Cataract Surgery
Cataract is the ‘clouding’ of the eye lens. Most cataracts are due to normal ageing process. Symptoms include blurred vision, multiple images, glare and patients see washed out colours when looking with that eye. Surgery is usually needed to treat cataracts whereby the clouded lens is replaced by an artificial lens which is customised to individual eye.

Eye with cataract
Our eye surgeons use the latest technology and lenses to perform the cataract surgery. During the surgical process, a Phacoemulsification (ultrasonic) probe is used which breaks the lens into small particles which are then taken out through a small incision around 2.2-2.4 mm with no stitch. Patients usually see well the next day. Our eye surgeons offer the latest lenses available which are suitable to your eye, and allow good vision both for distance and near without glasses. Our eye surgeons also offer toric lens used to correct astigmatism.
